This video was actually shot in two different time periods AND before the previous two videos posted...hence the reference to Loops' parents and different looking haircuts :-)

Anyway...yup, after being inspired by our Forest Service Ranger, I've decided to have a go at the craze that seems to be sweeping the camping world - rock painting.

We've made it to the big smoke, well to the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area anyway to see out the holiday weekend (4th July...yes I know this is late!)

I take a trip to visit a couple friends local to Portland and fill you in on our recent goings on...

Leaving the hostel early to get on the road to Scotland, but taking a detour through the scenic Yorkshire Dales.
First stop - to check out a waterfall from a film! :-)

An update on my road trip plans for Scotland this week and the big reveal of my sewing and quilting project I've been working on since April.

I'm on a visit to see my sister in the county of Kent, 40 mins drive south-east of London.
I thought I'd show you her garden, as we English love our gardens, how much we like walls and fences and tell you a little about Maidstone town where she lives. Oh, and postboxes.

FYI - there is a section where I start trying to explain about postbox labelling - I got it round the wrong way in the video, so here is the official label dates order for you....
VR post box – OLDEST Queen Victoria (postbox put up between 1853-1901)
GR post box – NEXT OLDEST George V (postbox put up between 1910-1936)
ER II post box – NEWEST Elizabeth II (postbox put up between 1952-recently)
And there apparently are also a couple in between that I wasn't aware of - fascinating stuff! :-)

Leaving North Cascades National Park we make our way across the state through changing scenery to the Grand Coulee Dam, for an evening light and music show.....
PS. Despite talking about our future travel plans heading east, I actually ended up going back to England early, and therefore this was the last video I made in the west for this year....

Yes, after a month and a half in England I have returned Stateside!
Just catching up with any changes in the bus today....

A brief chat about youth hostels and a look at the facilities here at the York Youth Hostel (YHA).
I have forgotten to mention here the downstairs facilities - kitchen, laundry, cafe, lounge area and free wifi.
Overall an excellent, clean hostel which is great value for money!

A little earlier than planned - I've returned home to sunny England for a month of visiting!
Just a quick catch up to explain my videoing predicament.....help?

For the final event pf the day I pop in to the rail museum for a peek at some trains.
It's worth noting I only filmed one part of the museum and there is a second building filled with a whole variety of trains! There is a train turntable, an inspection pit you can walk into and a viewing gallery overlooking where they work on engines.

A stroll down the famous Shambles street where we learn how it got its name, how it relates to Harry Potter and why you might go cat spotting in the city...
