In Mousesteps Weekly #155, we talk about:

Our visit to Epcot, which includes a look at the recharge & relax area, and the Soarin' expansion to a third theater. That addition should be finished in 2016. Captain EO recently reopened in the Imagination pavilion.

While we walk around World Showcase on a pretty day, we share some new merchandise that includes "Downton Abbey" in the UK; Hello Kitty in Japan; and Biergarten merchandise in German. A cart of Pinocchio items has popped up in Italy! The Anna and Elsa meet & greet location is taking shape.

Next, we visit Typhoon Lagoon for the DVC Beach Bash. The event included meet and greets with Mickey & Minnie and Lilo & Stitch, and some treats including Mickey bars and snickerdoodles. We take a ride on the Castaway Creek lazy river at night.

Kevin Bacon was at Give Kids the World for an ice cream challenge as part of his Six Degrees organization. He challenged a young boy to 6 seconds of eating ice cream!

In Mousesteps Weekly #154, we talk about these topics:

We begin at the Magic Kingdom, where we first check out the construction. Much of it is centered around the hub and Cinderella Castle (Dream Along with Mickey is closed for a month or so). The Main Street Philharmagic also plays a couple of sets daily in Plaza Garden East. After we leave the hub, we head to the Pirates of the Caribbean, which is closed currently through September 25th, 2015 for rehab. The former Adventureland Veranda is being renovated into what has been referred to as a Jungle Cruise themed restaurant possibly called the "Skipper's Cantina".

Lunch is at the Crystal Palace Buffet. Neither Jeff nor I have eaten here in 15 or so years, and we enjoyed a visit back for lunch (which ended up being dinner). Piglet, Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger made the rounds while we enjoyed a meal that included carved meats, salad, pasta and seafood.

We were at the Magic Kingdom to celebrate Disneyland's 60th, riding some of the original attractions. Those include Peter Pan's Flight, The Walt Disney World Railroad, and the Mark Twain. We enjoyed Wishes from Disney's Polynesian Resort before a visit to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto.

Next, we head to Disneyland for the 60th celebration. Our correspondent captured a look at the day, including Richard Sherman and Ashley Brown singing "Feed the Birds in front of Cinderella Castle. A cavalcade followed, with quite a few Disney characters joining original Cast Members that included Bob Gurr, Marty Sklar and Oscar Martinez (he is still working at the Carnation Cafe).

Our last stop is Gaylord Palms, where "Twas the Night Before Christmas" was announced for ICE!, as was the new show "Cirque Dreams Unwrapped". The show is included when at Gaylord Palms. We recommend extending your ICE! day to see the show, atrium and tree lighting! "Elf on the Shelf" is the theme of the scavenger hunt this year.

We attended the first Disney Vacation Club Nighttime Beach Bash at Typhoon Lagoon! This is a look at sunset over the Surf Pool as the waves rolled in plus a POV of the giant wave coming right at you! The waves can get to 6 feet in height.

In Mousesteps Weekly #156, we talk about:

Disney's Animal Kingdom park, where Pandora: The World of Avatar and "Rivers of Light" are under construction (the latter has seats being installed). We take a ride on Expedition Everest and Dinosaur, and dine at Yak & Yeti.

Next, we head to Disney Springs, where Jock Lindsay's Hangar Restaurant has added signage. In addition, STK has topped out (not pictured). And Paradiso 37 has had a new paint job in the week to 10 days since our last visit.

Our last stop is the Magic Kingdom, where Halloween merchandise is now out in the Emporium and Christmas shop. Figaro, Minnie as a witch and Mickey as a vampire are on some of the new merchandise for 2015.

Baymax and Hiro met for the last time - at least for the foreseeable future - at Disney's Hollywood Studios tonight (7/12/15). The Big Hero 6 duo have been a popular pair in The Magic of Disney Animation, which is now closed for good. This was the final emotional set as cast members that have worked with Baymax and Hiro posed for group photos. Baybax and Hiro hug before waving goodbye and heading off for the last time.

The Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios recently underwent some changes as it was branded to Turner Classic Movies. The new (digital projection) film montage includes "Star Wars", "King Kong", "Mary Poppins", and many more, and is hosted by TCM host Robert Osborne.
